Transparents has been selected as one of the 100 best ideas by the Actualidad Económica supplement distributed by the newspaper EL MUNDO. The project was developed by Fundación José Antonio Llorente in collaboration with REDI (Red Empresarial por la Diversidad e Inclusión LGTBI), for the Ámbar Project of the Fundación 26 de diciembre with the aim of making visible the barriers to social and labor insertion of the trans community in Spain and contribute to encourage their recruitment.
The Trans collective accumulates an unemployment rate of 80%, the highest within the LGBTIQ community. The Foundation designed a communication strategy to respond to the challenge of giving the Trans community a platform to make their voices heard and make their reality visible to the business community and society in general.
“Transparents” was presented as part of the International Day of Trans Visibility in an event held in front of the employment office of the Plaza Pablo Ruiz Picasso in Madrid, where an artistic installation of 15 transparent chairs was made, representing the story of a group of trans people, engraved with their name and the time they have been unemployed, who have suffered firsthand the labor rejection for their identity and the personal challenge in the search for employment.
Transparentes stands out for its results and reach in the media and social networks. Thirty-two volunteers from the Foundation participated under the leadership of David González Natal.
We invite you to learn more about this project of the Foundation on our website and social networks.
