#DosisDeHumanidad. The best prescription against the pandemic.
Objective
Amplify the Doctors Without Borders awareness campaign.
Solution
Fundación LLYC volunteers in Mexico partnered with Doctors Without Borders to support a communication campaign to raise awareness and fight the stigma and discrimination faced by healthcare workers, patients, and other vulnerable groups during the COVID-19 pandemic in Mexico and Central America. These efforts followed incidents of violence directed at these groups.
Over nearly two months, 11 LLYC volunteers worked on developing, executing, and monitoring various communication strategies, all aligned with Doctors Without Borders’ MSF’spaigns: #FuerzaEquipoMédico and #DosisdeHumanidad.
The initiative also included collaboration with lifestyle, health, fitness, and travel influencers, who shared supportive messages through their platforms. This partnership with Post-it encouraged audiences to display messages of solidarity in their windows, helping to destigmatize healthcare professionals. Influencers such as Mr. Doctor, Mónica Etzel, Luisa Fernanda Islas, and Mariel de Viaje significantly amplified the campaign’s impact.
Impact
Thanks to the dedication of our volunteer team, the campaign resulted in over 60 publications and 30 interviews across print, radio, and television at national, state, and local levels. Notable media outlets: Milenio Televisión, Latin Us, El Heraldo, El Universal, Publimetro, Reforma, Radio Centro, Televisa Monterrey, and Carmen Aristegui’s news program.
Working alongside Doctors Without Borders to position a campaign aimed at combating discrimination and violence against healthcare professionals in Mexico has been an invaluable opportunity for my team and me to contribute to the fight against the pandemic. It’s our way of making a meaningful impact.
